The next morning, we woke each other up with a knee in the back – well she didn't wake up easily the morning before. After striking camp and waiting for more make up to be chucked on one team member (it took a long time), we set off walking. We ambled up the hill back through Mellor, to finish our expedition.

BUSES TURNING

The weather was not so good on the last day of our hike, after two days of pleasant, dry, non-raining, fairly warm, with a breeze, but not too chilly weather, the girls wish had run out. Luckily, the boys wish didn't! It only chucked it down for the last kilometre of our journey so we were very fortunate!

We walked for just over 2 hours on the last day, finishing off at The Grouse Inn (a grouse is a bird if you didn’t know), which was overrun with chickens – ok, there were two! Angela and Mark picked us up and we drove back to the campsite to pick up the trailer and wait for the other team to finish.

It was a long journey home in the minibus. We reached the Scout Hall, sorted out the kit and went home.

Overall, we thought we had a successful expedition and found out that the Peak District was hilly!
